When you use Research Assistant, the text content of the webpage you are viewing and any questions you type are sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you have configured (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google). This is the core function of the extension.
What is sent:
These transmissions are governed by the privacy policies of each provider:
Your API keys are stored exclusively in your browser's local extension storage
(chrome.storage.local) on your own device. They are never synced to the cloud,
shared with the extension developer, or sent to any server other than the respective AI
provider's API endpoint.
This extension is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy is updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
